Hey, don’t call it “the speech of a lifetime”. I, for one, think he has even more to give. (This one was amazing, though)

You guys are a bunch of gigglepots.
Don’t forget hat Kwame is as much of a product of Detroit political madness (Coleman Young) as anything and he’s been very adept at playing on the hopes, fears and resentments of that city and state.
McCrazypants is tiiiiiiired. He’s been working so hard for this for yeeeeeeeears. He’s got two zillion naps to catch up and then he’ll be taking all the 3 a.m. phone calls. Also, Mister Charlie will be totally outed if he gets any more attention.
I honestly don’t hear “post racial” or “race transcendence” in Obama’s candidacy but the proposition that there is enough common ground for most of us to stand on, in order to work towards at least some solutions for the problems that we’re ignoring or hanging on to. Maybe it’s the fact that he acknowledges how much he’s shaped by being biracial that gets translated into this inference of “letting the past go” but that’s just skipping over so much of what he’s written and said.
Any one of us that is a product of racially or ethnically or even culturally/socially mixed unions knows that it’s just not possible to completely transcend your roots.
p.s. the podcast cut off before you guys were done giggling.

Hi Lolo,
I can’t speak to the giggling, unfortunately – but as for the podcast cutting out – occasionally the download process aborts, and rather than indicating as such, the software will just abruptly end the podcast. In this case, the posted length of the podcast was 23 minutes, so if it stopped short of this length, thats is what happened.
Unfortunately it’s a software issue, and theres no way for us to resolve this immediately, however usually if you reload the page it will correct itself. Also, just clicking the ‘download’ link and saving/playing it from your machine is more reliable – as is subscribing to the podcast in iTunes (either using the link on the audio archives page, or searching for us in the iTunes store).
Anyhow, sorry for the inconvenience!
